I would change your rear end gear ratio. I have the same problem with my 4.10's but i have a hot 454 in my 67 lwb. Whats sad is my friend has 68 swb stepside with a 305 and 3.07's and he launch is a lot better than mine but a pass him like he is standing still after a block when tires stop spinning so hard.

I know a guy that has put a piece of railroad track welded in the back of his bed. That runs 11's, in a 81 3/4 ton with 454 granny 4 spd and 4.10's.

I am lookin for me a piece of railroad iron. But found some tractor wieghts that should do the trick.
