Re: Door window channel run

The division bar channel(felt at the front of window, rear of vent) is held in by rivets.I drilled the old ones out only to find that my rivet gun would not fit in the channel. So after a few minutes of haid scritchen',I cut a short piece of 1/8 tubing and put it over the rod of the rivet. It spaced the rivet head out far enough to put it in the bottom of the channel. They've been in there for 5-6 years and never had a problem. The pop rivet pulls itself down into the felt enough to clear the edge of the glass.I lubed mine with silicone and relube it about every 6 months as well as the rubber run up the back and across the top. This keeps the friction down and makes the window easier to roll up/down.
