As for plastic re-chroming, there's a process that is called "Cobalt plating" that will allow for "chroming" virtually anything. Around here, a guy that does powder-coating was going to get into that business of chrome-plating. Check around and see what you find in your area. Genuine chrome shops have a lot of government rules/regs that apply because of the chemicals involved. The cobalt plating doesn't.
