are there different shades of teak oil you can use for a darker stain if one wanted to? im about to make my own custom bed wood also. And, is varnish basically the same thing as lacquer? the name teak oil doesnt sound as if it preps the wood for proper adhesion of somthing like this. please explain this to me. and also perhaps why you decided to use this combo of sealers/preserves
