Keep in mind you're going to get no advantage with swapping in a 3/4 ton front axle other than having the same amount of lugs on the front as the back. The 3/4 ton rear is a lot stronger than a half ton rear, but the fronts are essentially the same but the 3/4 ton has 8 lugs instead of 6. If you want a true upgrade, I'd go with 1 tons if you have the money. It's kind of weird. If you're going to be wheeling at all, definitely go with 1 tons over 3/4 tons, strictly due to the similarity between the 1/2 ton and 3/4 ton front ends. It really gets you nowhere durability-wise even if you don't use 4-wheel drive at all. If you're not going to go bigger than 35's, then the half tons should be fine with mild wheeling. As long as you're not beating the hell out of it, they should do just fine.
