I'm still working through problem on my 88 Burb from LACK of driving. It didn't have a 1,000 miles put on it in the last 1.5 years before I bought it. EGR was sticking, Injectors were gummed up and I thought I was going to have to replace them. Cat is plugging up because it didn't get run enough to get it clsed loop.
Either drive it or put it up on jack stands and spray oil into the cylinders and moth ball it. Once a month spin the back tires to keep the diff lubed. Crank it over by hand and spray more oil in the cylinders. Every 6 months fire it up and let it run till hot for 10 minutes. Spray more oil into the cylinders. Every 2 years change the oil and the coolant.
