I know it isn't the same, but, years ago I fixed a LIGHTLY wrote-off olds cutlass for myself; it failed the inspection because of a rock dent in a rear shock!!! It had 60k on it! You should've seen the pos the dude that failed my car was driving!
I've gotta go through an out of province inspection with my Blazer (from sask!), hope it goes less bumpy than your experience.
