I agree, you are much better off finding a donor bed from a swb. But I disagree on the 8 inches off the back. I did mine and followed instructions from an old Truckin' and it said to take 12 from under the cab and only 6 from the rear to mount the bumper in the correct postion. Some frames may be different I dont know but I do know that another member, I think his alias is mario? He took 8 inches off of his and said it was too much. So I suggest you cut 6 inches off the rear and if its not enough then take an additional 2 if the bumper sticks out.
