Hot air stove. On cold mornings the air door in snorkel wiil close to outside air--air must come up thru tube from stove which will be pulled around exhaust manifold which inturn heats the air causing the engine to run more smoothly. As engine heats up the temperture vac. switch ( located most of the time in themo. housing) closes the vac. off to snorkel opening the door to outside air. (that is if everything is working as per factory) Whewwww--don't you just love these long winded answers. (makes me look like I know what I am saying )
