Dino,

The original 283 in my 65 had the crank shaft centerline 11" above the bottom of the front cross member (board clamped to the bottom of the cross member, measured up to the crank center line at the harmonic balancer).

I set my LS2 crank center line 11-5/8". At a 3 degree angle (low at back) the transmission snout is about at the center of the frame rail (but it is a T56). I have about 1/8" clearance with the cab floor but it is a low hump cab floor.
