Beat everything on the street? Hope you have pockets full of money 'cause that's what it's going to take, especially in a truck. There are N/A Camaros and TransAms out there running high 9's, that'll take somewhere around 900hp to get that done with a truck.
Start with a strong 383 and work your way up from there. Build something that's reliable and affordable and fun, worry about beating everyone on the street later, once you've got some wrenching and tuning under your belt.
