From what I gather, where you run into pinion angle trouble is when you don't lower it even. Say if you installed hangers only. This would tilt the pinion up and out of angle. Now if you go with a hanger/shackle combo, you are not changing the angle, only lowering it. What you are after is keeping the pinion angle the same as the tranny output shaft. So, as long as you don't roll the axle position from stock too much, you should be OK.
