Ok got the hole in the firewall cut for the harness to pass through. I cut it below the engine/frame harness in the firewall. I will prevail on my machinist to make a stainless steel filler panel to go between the two assemblies which will allow the grommet to seal all the way around the 1 3/4inch hole I cut in the firewall.
