Nothing at all wrong with credit cards. And if you do your homework you will find that credit cards are actually safer, in regards to theft / identity theft, than a debit card or checks. The greatest risk with a debit cards and Checks is the fact that you open your checking account to the world. Interesting article here:

Just pay off the credit card every month, don't run a balance and don't use any credit cards that charge fees. It's all about discipline. You can actually make money off of them by earning points for other purchases. Many people though think credit cards are free money.... that boat will never leave port.
