The accessories from a SBC don't mount up right on a diesel engine. Alternator can interchange, but you have to use the diesel spacer mount. A/C pump needs a diesel specific mount. Power steering needs a specific mount. So basically all the stuff will work, but you have to find the diesel style mounts. I think 1300 for a 6.2 is ridiculous, too. I paid 600 for mine, and it's a J code with 90k miles on it.
