On a serious note, have you asked them what their reasons are? I'm guessing you are still living at home and are probably under 18. Maybe they'd rather see you save your money for an education?

Or perhaps they're afraid lowing it will alter the handling charactieristics and make it unsafe? If that's the case you can educate them, because if done correctly, ride and handling will both be improved. Of course doing it right takes $$.

I don't know what their reasons are but I doubt showing them pics of "how cool it looks" will sway them. I think an adult dialog with them and coming to some sort of "middle ground" with them is your answer.
