I am sure experts will chime in, but I believe the frame isn't shaped the same, so cab/box wouldn't line up. Anything can be done with enough work, but is it worth it is the question for most.
Many people do pull the front crossmember from a 73-87 and bolt them in (very close to a direct bolt in I believe). You will also need the MC from the truck it came from if you are going from drums to discs. If swapping the rear, you will need to cut off the spring perches from the donor and mount the appropriate trailing arm and shock brackets. Also, make sure the drive shaft yokes are compatible (or have a custom one made).
