How you count the teeth is fairly simple. Just take off the the diff cover and make a mark at one of the teeth on the ring gear( big gear). Start from the mark and count all of the teeth on the ring gear. Next, count the pinion gear teeth ( front of the diff housing gear). Finally, take the number of teeth on the ring gear divided by the teeth on the pinion gear and that will give you your gear ratio.
