Its pretty basic stuff really, you will do fine. I always start by pulling the distributer so i dont break it if the motor and tranny swings. Then unbolt the headers at the heads and leave them in the frame, if manifolds just unhook them from the downpipes. Then attach your cherry picker via chain and strong bolts. You can use a motor plate instead if you pull the carb. Use the picker to take a bit off the weight of the engine/tranny, not too much or it will jump when you unbolt your mounts. Pull your driveshaft from the tranny and use a ziplock bag and big rubber band around tailshaft of tranny. Then you need to unbolt your motor and tranny mounts. Should come right out. I do recommend taking off the front clip of the truck. Makes it worlds easier for the time it takes to pull the fenders and core support.
