Re: Leveling Kit Installation
agree with 55belairtrim - this is THE tool you need. It is possible to whack yourself pretty hard if you don't know what you're doing - so be careful. This tool helps you be careful but you can still ruin your day if you goon it. There is a great deal of energy stored in a torsion bar. Just be careful and use the right tool - but also keep in mind, it might be cheaper to have the tire/susp shop intall it than it is to buy the tool. Also note - it is possible to have your truck leveled without the new keys that come in the kit - if you go to far, you will have trouble aligning - but my 2001 Z71 has no suspension kits and rides perfectly level after torsion was increased a little on the stock keys. Having said that - I move a lot, oftentimes to the DC area, so as much as it has pissed me off, underground parking was a requirement, so NO lift was my goal, only leveling. I do think these trucks look much better with about 2" of lift in the rear and leveled in the front. My 2 cents. I'm surprised there's not a sticky or how-to thread on here for doing exactly what you're doing, considering how many people have done it already.
