My blazer 700R4 did the same thing,
I found out later from the tranny shop, that the mechanic that bought it from them, installed it wrong and was out of adjustment.
I only drove it a few weeks, but in that short time I had burned up some things in the tranny and it had to be replaced.
This time I had the tranny shop do it and they were mad at the other mechanic so they didn't charge me they charged him for his mistake.
