I've done a motor swap in near freezing temps with my buddy. In extreme hot and extreme cold, it's hard to focus on the task at hand. In the hot you wear out a lot quicker, and in the cold... EVERYTHING HURTS. God forbid you smack your knuckles against anything.
If you're even thinking about better heads and cams, you better go ahead and do it now. You'll regret not doing it later. Once the 454 is installed and you're roasting radials at every red light, you'll forget how much it sucked. Keep the pictures coming
