Thanks Boog. You are right there are different shift levers for different years. This one could have been packaged wrong, but the packaging says: 71-7213 - SLNT 1971-72 Chevrolet/ GMC Truck 3 speed and automatic shift lever (w/o tilt). I have a 1972 Chevy C10.
