I don't think it is crazy to haul your kids around in it. The best times I have driving my '71 Cheyenne is when my 5 1/2 year old son is with me and he asks if I could "buzz it" That means accelerate like a maniac. He often follows that request with, "We won't tell mom this".
That boy is going to be alright.
He enjoys the ice cold factory air, too!
Good luck with your A/C. Mine was a ***** to fix. I couldn't seem to control the hot air. Once I got the hot air diverted, it has been great.
