I read an interesting article the other day about consumer industries in general.
It said that with the escalating cost of labor, it's much cheaper for a manufacturer to actually NO LONGER do quality inspections. It turns out that the added cost of processing returns of bad parts actually saves them money when compared to making sure the parts are good to begin with.
And, since there's no brands or anything on this, shipping bad parts doesn't affect your customer loyalty!
