Hey Worp67, you'll like the 5.3, 4l60e setup. Who's the salvage yard your using? I saw a couple of 5.3s on Craigslist FS. I bought mine complete from Schramm Auto in Michigan. Take a look at my build thread. I went as inexpensive as I could getting mine in and mounted and running. Tried to make as much as I could and throw money at the stuff I couldn't or didn't have time for. PM me if you want to check it out in person. Good luck with your build. Jim
