The way you have it wired will work but if you want to get the most efficient system don't just jump the # 2 wire to the back of the alt. instead run it to the regulator plug and connect it to the red wire. What this does is it allows the alternator to sense voltage remotely instead of at the back of the alt. This is important because that red wire is connected to the main alternator buss that feeds the cab and battery and is where you will have the biggest voltage drop. Here is a diagram below how I like to jump the wires, the colors don't matter whats important is that the red wire goes to # 2 and the brown wire to # 1 terminals.
