If your wiring is "super hot and actually start smoking," you have a dead short, power to ground in the circuit you are plugging in! There are only two factory plugs in the rear wiring that I am aware of, one in the firewall and one in the left rear corner. Use a simple process of elimination to find out where your short(s) are. Don't stop with just one! Who knows what some PO might have done! Good luck!
