I made my own adapter plates (style #3) on some tubular engine stands. I have a set of adapter plates like style #2, but they would not work cause of the A/C compressor. That being said, I have an F-body A/C compressor on corvette accessories. So the truck set up may be slightly different sized and allow you to run that set up.

Also, My engine stands are set back as far as possible. Can't remember if that is considered the "6 cylinder position" or not.
Yes I am planning to use the stock Ls a/c compressor.
I have considered using the 6 cyl. position. I'm just trying to cut corners and hoping to find someone with the same setup I want to use. That way I can just make one set and be done.
