personally i would keep the six. because if you go with the 396 and non overdrive trans you will not like the gas milage or driving on the freeway.or over about 45 miles an hour.i have a slight built 350 about 300-350 horse and i am putting in an overdrive tranny. its great for doing burn outs but thats it.
