Short beds can only fit a 16 gallon tank (factory) on either side. Long beds can fit either the 16 or 20 gallon tanks on either side. Some of the step sides (what years I don't remember) came with a rear mounted tank (capacity unknown to me)
You could alway put in a blazer/ suburban 30 gallon tank behind the rear axle. Do a search for it. Plenty of people on here have done so and done write ups of their progress.
