Initialy i thought the same thing but if your not going to tow anything then you will be alright but if you plan on loading it down then yes you will need a notch. the only down side is that they dont make one specific to the suburban and you will have to make a custom one or modify one to fit. I was going to do one like this.

No i havent ran the lines yet. but i will be getting a shop to do them. My neighbor just got his done and they charged him 65 bucks. so depending on how long the hoses are it should be cheap.
