Yes, I have cut springs before. Never rears that were double pigtailed.

My truck has 5" rears now, and 3" fronts, that I cut a half coil off. Before, it had stockers that were cut 3 coils in the front ,and the rears were heated enough to make them sag enough that the rear was about 4" lowered.

It was awful and scary. I'm pretty sure there were times on the highway that I hit a bump and the back tires came off the ground.

Proper shocks and bumpstops will make a world of difference.
