I can say that the 5.3 that I now have is stronger and has more roadability than the 91 that I sold, when I bought the 2011. The computer tune may have something to do with that. It is a strong engine and the acceleration is much better. The gain in gas mileage from the 91 is not so noticeable, but the performance is.
