yeah, sometimes junkyards rip you off, but other times the prices are amazing. I needed a cable for my cavalier, for between the stick shift and the tranny. New it was $300, from the junkyard $10.
As for the insulation story. I personally don't feel guilty, it was their mistake, they should eat the cost. If I made a mistake, I wouldn't expect someone to come back and pay more. My mistake, my loss. I guess it depends on how you would feel if you were the one who made the mistake.
