81-87 will fit no problem. 73-80 will need larger trunions on you bed. I think 73-76 need to have alignment tabs on the top of the tailgate removed to fit.

Thanks for your response. Is it difficult to change the trunions? By the way what r the trunions-are they the springs that open and close?
