You may know it already but for those that don't, you have to visit the forum every time you get a notice from a thread in order to get another notice. You only get one notice from a thread before they require you to visit to reset your notifications.
I think it's one of the most annoying things ever so I just set up cron jobs to visit the forums every few minutes to keep me updated
