seems like close would be good as long at it's not ever touching and a fan shroud could be incorporated?
This on my '59 Apache, I had my plastic replica engine in place trying to visualize the same thing your talking about. Here my HEI distributor is .5" away from the firewall, but haven't figured out the tilt of the engine yet~ eh, a ways off yet.
