Q-jet is by far better. I've never had a problem with mine. Back in the days when DirtyLarry still had a carb on his beast he was running an edlebrock with the off-road kit. His truck compared to mine ran completely different when we got up to higher altitudes and odd angles in the mountains. His was always loading up running rich at low speeds and stalling at the wrong time. Mine putted along without any fiddling other than a slight bump in timing to run a little better at the higher altitude, no loading up, coughing or stalling even at odd angles.

Larry might chime in but I know it annoyed him to no end and was a giant deciding factor to switch to running fuel injection in some form.
