I've got to do something about mine, too. I considered just putting a new starter in. Is it just the heat in the solenoid that caused that? When mine does it, it sounds like the battery is almost dead, the starter barely turns over. I usually bump the key over to start a couple of times until it turns freely. At least the truck is warmed up and it'll start right away when it does that.
Where did you pick up your remote solenoid, and you'll have to let me know how it works.
