passenger cars of the same year had powerglides, basically the same engine too. In 1955 they sold new chevies with that combo. In fact, the glide didn't have any rear mounts and they were made of cast iron.
I suggest you research a rear trans mount and make an adapter to install a rear frame crossmember to support the powerglide.
BUT
If I were you, I would install a 700R4 with an adapter plate and a crank spacer. That will make your '52 get up and roar.
