One option is buying a rust free longbed truck out of cali or arizona for cheap and parting out what you don't need. From what I've seen if you take your time you can get one in running condition for as little as 1000. 1500-2000 for a nice one...pay another 1000-1500 for shipping it cross country. Then sell the bed (unless you need it) for 800-1200, the gate for 3-500, fenders, hood, and all the other misc parts and end up paying next to nothing for the cab and possibly doors if needed...
