Since all the trucks I have driven for the past few years have had OD transmissions, I really noticed the difference when I bought my 77. I still don't know what gears it has, but it seems like the rpm is up there a bit at highway speeds.

I say go for the 700. I don't think you will regret it, even if you don't drive it much...
