I did modify mine to set the engine back. I had to cut the front hole that would hold the upper from sbc mount bolt, to gain cleance for the AC with the factory brackets ( on the 5.3). I then ended up fipping the mounts side to side and dilling and tapping one hole for the new location of the sbc mount.
In the end, the frame mounts are in the two rear holes on upper frame flange, and the trans crossmember is in the most forward set of holes. This should push the engine back to make it sit a bit tighter to the firewall.
