I see that you live in Calif.. Home of the rip off weight fees to DMV. Do what you have to to get your truck under 4000 pounds. There is a big jump in your fees from 3999 to 4000. Take out the seat, the tailgate, spare tire, playboys under the seat, empty beer cans in the back,the bumpers, and anything else that you can do without when you get it weighed. Ive had big blocks come in under 4000 when I was in the wonderful sunshine state! Its worth the work since you are paying about 1000% more to register your truck than in any other state. Here in Oregon, NO SMOGS on any year and the fees for the tags are $30 for TWO years! Such a deal. Also no sales tax. Time to think about moving!
