Hi lanconcj,

If I remember correctly, the computer controlled Q-Jets have both a 3-wire plug (near the driver side) for the throttle position sensor and a 2-wire plug on top for the mixture control solenoid.

Some of these trucks also used a Q-Jet with a dual capacity accelerator pump. They have a 2-wire plug on top that's connected to a thermostatic control switch. But no computer.

If your truck has the carb with the dual capacity pump, you won't have to do anything special to run the Edelbrock.

If your truck has the computer controlled carb, I think you'll also have to swap out the distributor. That's because the computer also controls the ignition advance. You can tell by looking at the distributor. A computer controlled one won't have a vacuum advance or mechanical advance mechanism.
