I'm onboard for this. When i retired (LOL), I decided basically the same thing. Now that I've returned to work part-time, I drive my '70 stepper 300+ mi/week. It's currently my only ride. No payments, but I will admit to a lot of weekend time spent on upkeep.

Years ago, my wife wanted an MGB. I told her she would have to take an auto-mechanics class at the local community college, 'cause I wasn't going to spend my weekends keeping her car on the road. Guess I'm eatin' those words..

FYIW: My truck is a "survivor" farm truck - sat in a S.Ga. field for 17 yrs.
