I agree with John, the sticks did not have the wiring setup and changing out the harness is an excellent way of getting the wiring you need.

It is possible to interrupt the large purple wire that goes to your
starter solenoid by cutting the wire, soldering in the right length pigtail with the correct plug and using that to plug onto your neutral safety switch.

I prefer John's suggestion as problems can develop with the connections as the purple wire carries a lot of current when starting the engine.
