Changing from electric to manual choke shouldn't affect the running of the engine or function of the carb. The choke change will not make it run or not run lean. The choke richens up the mixture. When either version of choke is open---It will have no affect. You said it runs "wet". I don't know what that means. Is it dumping fuel?
