As far as my knowledge goes, a 383 is a 350 block bored 30 over with a 3.75 crank out of a 400. I think either the block or the crank needs to be ground down in a few spots due to clearance issues. I think the crank journals need to be taken down too., not positive tho.

There are kits now too.......I don't know what block work has to be done when you buy those.
